Venus and Moon Will Share Rare Celestial ‘Kiss’ – How it Affects Astrology

On Thursday, February 27, the moon and the planet Venus will share a celestial “kiss” in the heavens – what does this rare cosmic event mean for your astrological outlook?

Venus and moon to share ‘cosmic kiss’

Two of the brightest objects in the night sky – Venus and the moon – will come together in a rare celestial pairing being described as a “cosmic kiss.”

Currently, we are in the middle of what’s called an “apparition” Venus, which refers to the period of time in which the planet is the furthest from the Sun. In fact, it is also during this time in which Venus is at its greatest distance from the sun when it actually shines its brightest through June 2020.

The moon, on the other hand, will be in a crescent shape or “waxing” moon, having begun as a “new” moon on February 23.

Venus and the Moon will appear to come into contact on February 27. If you are fortunate enough to live somewhere where you will experience clear skies on the night of this event, you will be able to bear witness to this rare occurrence.

Next month, we will experience what is called the “Super Worm Moon” in which the Moon will appear closer and brighter, while also being the last full moon of winter. This event occurs on Monday, March 9, 2020.

What are the astrological effects of this celestial event?

The cosmic kiss of Venus and the moon comes this after the new moon entered Pisces on February 23, and at the same time, occurs during the double Mercury in Pisces transits on February 26.

Double Mercury in Pisces refers to the Sun conjunct Mercury and Mercury sextile Mars.

A conjunction is when two planets moved within just a few degrees of one another. Mercury will also remain in retrograde until March 10. Retrograde is when a planet has the illusion of moving backwards.

In astrology, the planet Mercury rules over our thoughts and emotions. However, during retrograde, things are turned upside down. To work out our thoughts and emotions, we too must move backwards, revisiting the past to work out the problems we are experiencing in the present.

At roughly 10:25 PM EST, the void Moon occurs with its last aspect before changing signs, which will be a square to Saturn, until the moon enters Taurus the next day, February 28, at 2:30 AM EST.

When the Moon moves into Taurus, it will emphasize parts of our personality that focus on common sense, particularly concerning domestic matters, finances, and career or business.
