Hasbro Introduces 3 Halo-Themed Nerf Guns, Including a Needler

Halo fans have something to celebrate, as Hasbro has announced it is releasing 3 Halo-themed Nerf guns to be released in fall 2020.

First Fortnite, now Halo

Last fall, Hasbro jumped on the Fortnite bandwagon and released five Fortnite-themed Nerf guns.

Due to the success of that venture, Hasbro will follow suit this fall releasing Nerf guns around the theme of the popular game Halo.

The slated release date is October 1, 2020

Three versions of Halo Nerf guns

The first two versions will be entry-level Halo-themed Nerf guns, which will be part of Hasbro’s MicroShot lineup, reportedly priced at $10 each, while the third version, the motorized flagship model, will retail at $50.

The SPNKr MicroShot

The first one is the SPNKr MicroShot.

It’s based on the double-barrel rocket launcher of the same name, which fires a single shot at a time and comes with two darts.

The estimated retail price will be $10.

The Needler MicroShot

The second MicroShot Halo-themed version is called the Needler, which all Halo fans should know.

The Type-33 Guided Munitions Launcher, i.e., it fires a homing projectile. In the game, the Needler is a Covenant projectile weapon that fires long, sharp crystalline shards that are guided until they impale a target — which is where it gets its moniker the “needler.”

When the trigger is pulled, the needle gets fed from the top into the barrel of the weapon, and then is fired at high speed.

However, before you get too excited and carried away thinking this Nerf version will be like the Needler in the game – it’s not.

The Hasbro version of this iconic Halo weapon doesn’t fire homing projectiles. Instead, it’s a single-shot dart gun.

The estimated retail price will be $10.

The high-end: MA40 Blaster

The third Halo-themed offering by Hasbro is its high-end Nerf gun in the lineup, the NERF Halo MA40 Blaster.

It’s motorized and comes with 10 darts. It has a clip mechanism that will automatically feed the projectiles (darts) into the chamber of the blaster.

Again, before you get too excited thinking of the way this weapon operates in the game – slow your roll, the Hasbro version isn’t fully automatic. Each pull of the trigger will only fire a single dart.

But that’s probably a good idea safety-wise.

As a bonus, the Nerf Halo Blaster MA40 comes with a code to unlock the MA40’s color scheme in the upcoming Halo: Infinite.

The MA40 Blaster will require four C-batteries to operate (sold separately) and will reportedly retail for $50.

Review: The takeaway

No one has been able to see or hold these upcoming Halo-themed Nerf guns in person.

However, based on the quality of the previous Fortnite versions, one anticipates nothing less and the same kind of precision an operation to be found in these upcoming offerings by Hasbro.

On the upside, the price point for each of the MicroShot versions is low, and even the price of the high-end MA40 Blaster seems to be fair for what it does.

Overall, it’s quite exciting to see Halo gear come to life in Nerf versions!
