Did the 2009 Predictions of Teen Astrologer on 2020 Pandemic Come True?

In late March, a story spread like wildfire on Facebook about a 14-year-old teen astrologer in India who made predictions in 2009 about a 2019-2020 pandemic – did they come true?

Predictions of a 14-year-old astrologer

A gifted teenager, 14-year-old boy named Abikya Anand from India has been exposed to astrology and astronomy all his life. He has received degrees and awards over his astronomical and astrological knowledge.

In August 2009, the teen released a video in which he made a startling prediction. In the footage, Anand predicted that from August 2019 to April 2020 the combination of Moon and Rahu will be powerful and will spread disease in the world. He said this would create a context of a war between humans and viruses.

Anand predicted that until April 1, the coronavirus impact will be greater in India’s Northeast states, and the impact will be greater in the north than places like Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Orissa states. He said that the overall impact of the virus will be higher in April then gradually decrease by May 29.

Additionally, Anand predicted that the economic downturn will conclude in November.

Did the predictions come true?

How accurate were the predictions by Abikya Anand that a global pandemic would occur between 2019-2020 and the other specific details he foresaw in 2009?

Anand predicted the start of a viral outbreak in August 2019 and hitting a peak of impact in April 2020.

Without a doubt, he was very close on the timing. As far as we currently know, the outbreak began sometime either in late December or January in Wuhan China.

It appears as if Anand was off in his estimate of when the pandemic would begin – or was he? Consider that intelligence agencies around the world suspect China may have been suppressing information about the virus. We could ultimately learn that the outbreak may have begun sooner.

Anand predicted that the effect of the outbreak would be higher in April 20, 2020 decrease as of May 29, 2020

Indeed, in India, the number of active cases has increased day by day through April, as has the number of deaths. However, on a global scale, India currently ranks number 18th with a total of 1008 deaths as of this writing.

Anand predicted that the impact of the outbreak would be higher in the north of India as opposed to the South, West or East

Looking at the Bing COVID-19 tracker, it’s a bit of a tossup as to whether the north or south or east is more infected, but certainly, there is a significant impact across the northern portion of India and one can only see today’s current outbreaks.

In this case, we will have to give Anand the benefit of the doubt and say he is correct in his prediction.
